Hairy- like thing growing on chin and upper lip?

Eversince i was a kid I have been noticing that these little white hair looking things are growing on my chin. They have also been growing around my upper lip. I am also not sure if it is growing or sticking out. I have tried using tweezers to get them out but it hurts. Can someone please just tell me what they are!? x
