Should i be worried about my dog's tick bite?

this morning i noticed a strange white thing on my dogs ear. It turned out to be a tick and we took it off with tweezers and tried to get it as close to the actual ear as possible, but there is a bump on her ear with a red dot in the middle. she is still a puppy (only around 5 months) and i really dont want her to get sick but we dont have the money for those expensive vet bills so that is the last resort.
