How will being a scientist change over time?

I know that technology and problems will change as time goes on. But will the basics to science change. Will methodologies change(the way we research), will the purpose and principles change. I have asked this question before and people have told me it depends on the scientist you want to be, so I don't know what type of scientist this is but this is what I find interesting-Physics, technology, biology, chemistry, I also like astronomy but since there isn't much need for it at the moment I will study that in spare time.
