Stung by bee, can't get stinger out! Help?

I didn't see the bee and I stepped on it 3 days ago then wiped my hand over my foot instantly. I think the stinger broke and half is still in my foot! A friend told me to cut a piece of onion off and put it on my foot which would make it come out, but it didn't. Tried the tweezers and even the nail clippers, pulled some of my skin off while doing that. I still think it may possibly be in my foot since It's itchy, a bit swollen and I don't know what to do! Is there a way or remedy I can use to make the rest of the stinger come out?
